Wakeboarding question?
So I recently bought a wakeboard on sale and am excited to try it. I have never done it before in my life. I have waterskied but I hear that doesnt really help. I have a couple of questions:
1. At my cottage, we have 2 jet skis and no boat. Is it ok to wakeboard behind them? I’m a big guy at like 6’0 and 205-210. Will the sea doo be enough to get me out of the water?
2. What’s the first time getting up like? Is there anything I should know or the driver should know when I’m starting out?
3. Since a sea doo doesnt exactly produce a huge wake, is it possible to go out and find other boats and try and hit there wake? Do some people do this?
Any other tips you guys can give is helpful.

1. It might be a little strenuous on the jet ski, but it can pull you. However, when you are being pulled by the jet ski you have to go slower than you would on a boat because it doesn’t have as much power.
2. The first time you get up, it will sort of feel like the water is trying to pull you back down. Don’t panic if it feels like that. To get up on the wakeboard, its sort of like if you were sitting on the ground trying to get up without using your arms. Push your feet down to apply pressure to the board and stand up. It may take you a few tries to get up, but eventually you will! The driver should always be cautious to see when you fall, especially since you’re going to be towed by a jet ski.
3. It depends. DO NOT go directly behind another boat and use their wake. That is very dangerous to you and the people on the boat. You can follow a boat from farther behind and still catch some of the waves left behind from their wake. However, boat drivers sometimes don’t appreciate it when you do this, so if they ask you to stop, stop. And yes people do use other boats wakes. I have a boat and jet skis use my wake. I don’t have a problem with it unless they get to close. Hope this helped!
