My daughter had a relaxer put in her hair and she was told to only swim once a week…?
I want to get her a swim cap so that she does not get her hair wet. What is the best kind of swim cap? Latex, silicone, lycra….??
My daughter will not go swimming if she cannot get her hair wet because she enjoys diving and swimming hard, so will it hurt her hair if she goes more than once a week and gets her hair wet in the pool? ( As long as she washes it out)
She may have been told that because of the drying effects of washing her hair too much. Even with a swim cap the edges of her hair will still get wet, especially with diving. You should try to keep her hair moisturized and make sure you rinse out all of the chlorine. If her hair seems to be drying out, you may want to consider alternative styles such as braids to wear during the swim season.
