I’m scared of water..?

Does anyone else out there have a fear of water? I don’t know when mine started, but I have like an irrational fear of the ocean, lakes, rivers, creeks, tubs, pools, fish tanks, aquariums. They all creep me out so much. I seriously was in less than a foot of water in a creek, and it had a stronger current and I couldn’t walk a foot across to get to the other side I got so scared I jumped out as fast as I could. My family went snorkeling in Florida and I couldn’t even put my face in or float in 2 feet of water…I actually cried. And people think I just want attention, but it seriously scares me so much. I hate underwater animals too. Like stupid whales and fish. And like docks and boats. It’s not that I’m scared of drowning, I’m more scared of the vastness and the what could be in it. Anyone else share this fear, anything like it, or know anyone that does? It’ll help make me feel less like a freak..haha. Thank you

You have a phobia, that’s all. I’m afraid of heights! I can’t even go to games at stadiums. I hate stairs and ladders and such. Scary! I panicy and feel like I’m about to scream… But usually it just comes out as tears, like you said. So don’t feel like a freak. Phobias are never rational. But they are very, very real. I hate it! But we deal with it the best we can.
