How can i get over my fear of tubing at the lake? Please feel pity!?
Im not afraid of drowning because i wear a life jacket. And im not afraid of water because i am perfectly happy water-skiing. Im just afraid when were on a tube im going to break my neck or get really hurt. I am going to the lake with my friend – her tube is a nautica and is the kind where you sit on it like a chair with 3 people. Her dad always goes crazy over bumps and every time i ask him or my friend to chill out and dont go over bumps and stuff he just goes even crazier because he thinks its funny and perfectly fine and “i wont get hurt” but i have before – i landed and my neck popped and i was sore for the rest of the week – im not even joking. So i cant really do anything about that there. What do i do?! And i cant avoid it either, because its unavoidable. Her dad will make me go – because he thinks i need to just get out there and do something reckless but im scared! someone help me get over my fear!!!
First of all you won’t break your neck or get seriously injured. I’ve been tubing for years and the only thing painful after tubing is that you get really sore for a week or two, but it’s nothing serious and it does go away. Tell your friend’s dad that you’re scared and ask him to go easy on you. Chances are he will. Have your friend go with you so that you are not alone, since she’s lucky and has a 3 person tube. The one that I go in is a 1 person tube that looks like a Cheerio with a bottom. You’ll be fine. Just wear your life jacket, hold on tight and have fun. Good Luck!
